Privacy Policy

1. Overview

PromptPalette (“the Extension”) helps you extract design-system information from webpages you choose to snap, preview those tokens, and optionally export or send a brief to AI tools you select.

MKSOL TECH does not operate a PromptPalette cloud backend that receives your snaps by default. Processing happens on your device inside Chrome, using Chrome extension APIs.

2. What we collect

When you click Snap on a page, the Extension may read and temporarily process:

  • Visible page styles (colors, fonts, spacing, radii, component-related CSS cues)
  • Page metadata (title, description, canonical/Open Graph/Twitter tags, favicon URL, theme color, and similar SEO fields)
  • A screenshot of the visible tab
  • Derived summaries such as a design brief or skill.md text you generate in the Extension

We do not ask you to create an account. We do not intentionally collect government IDs, payment card numbers, or precise location through the Extension.

3. How we use data

Data from a snap is used only to:

  • Show Website / Design / Export views inside the Extension
  • Power the local style playground preview
  • Keep a local snap library history on your device
  • Prepare copy/export payloads you explicitly trigger

4. Storage & retention

Snaps, screenshots/thumbnails, and related text are stored locally using Chrome storage APIs (chrome.storage.local / chrome.storage.session) on your computer.

You can clear this data by removing snaps in the Library, clearing extension storage via Chrome settings, or uninstalling the Extension.

5. Sharing

PromptPalette does not sell your personal information. Data leaves your browser only when you take an explicit action, for example:

  • Copying content to the clipboard
  • Downloading markdown files
  • Using “Send” to open a third-party AI site and optionally insert your prompt/files

Third-party AI services you choose to send content to have their own privacy policies. Review those policies before sending any content to them.

6. Permissions

The Extension may request Chrome permissions such as:

  • activeTab / scripting — to read styles from the page you snap
  • storage — to save your library locally
  • tabs — to open library/playground pages and AI destinations you choose
  • host access — only for AI destinations you explicitly Send to. Snapping the current page uses activeTab, not broad site access

7. Children

PromptPalette is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we publish revisions. Continued use of the Extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
